AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Queen Anne’s County – Natural Resources – Sunday Hunting 2 
 
FOR the purpose of authorizing the Department of Natural Resources to allow a person in 3 
Queen Anne’s County to hunt any game bird or game mammal on a Sunday during 4 
the open season for that game bird or game mammal; and generally relating to 5 
Sunday hunting in Queen Anne’s County. 6 
 
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, 7

 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 12 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 13 
 
Article – Natural Resources 14 
 
10–410. 15 
 
 (a) (1) The Department may allow a person to hunt on each Sunday of the 16 
game bird and game mammal seasons in: 17 
 
 (i) Allegany County; 18 
 
 (ii) Cecil County; 19 
 
 (iii) Garrett County; 20 
 
 (iv) QUEEN ANNE’S COUNTY; 21  2 	SENATE BILL 342  
 
 
 
 (V) St. Mary’s County; and 1 
 
 [(v)] (VI) Washington County. 2 
 
 (2) The Department may allow a person to hunt deer on each Sunday of the 3 
deer hunting seasons from the first Sunday in October through the second Sunday in 4 
January, inclusive, in: 5 
 
 (i) Carroll County; 6 
 
 (ii) Dorchester County; and 7 
 
 (iii) Frederick County. 8 
 
 (3) (i) Subject to subparagraph (ii) of this paragraph, the Department 9 
may allow a person to hunt deer on each Sunday of the deer hunting seasons from 30 10 
minutes before sunrise until 10:30 a.m. in: 11 
 
 1. Kent County; and 12 
 
 2. Montgomery County. 13 
 
 (ii) The time restrictions under this paragraph do not apply: 14 
 
 1. To a participant in a junior deer hunt authorized under 15 
this subtitle; 16 
 
 2. On one Sunday designated by the Department during the 17 
deer firearms season; 18 
 
 3. In Kent County, on each Sunday during the deer bow 19 
hunting season and the deer muzzle loader season; and 20 
 
 4. In Montgomery County, on one Sunday designated by the 21 
Department during the deer bow hunting season. 22 
 
 (4) The Department may allow a person to hunt deer during the deer 23 
firearms season: 24 
 
 (i) On each Sunday in: 25 
 
 1. Calvert County; 26 
 
 2. Caroline County; 27

 4. Harford County; 1 
 
 5. [Queen Anne’s County; 2 
 
 6.] Somerset County; and 3 
 
 [7.] 6. Worcester County; 4 
 
 (ii) On the first Sunday in: 5 
 
 1. Anne Arundel County; and 6 
 
 2. Talbot County; and 7 
 
 (iii) In Wicomico County, on: 8 
 
 1. The first Sunday; and 9 
 
 2. The second Sunday from 30 minutes before sunrise until 10 
10:30 a.m. 11 
 
 (5) The Department may allow a person to hunt deer during the deer bow 12 
hunting season on: 13 
 
 (i) The last three Sundays in October and the first two Sundays in 14 
November in: 15 
 
 1. Calvert County; 16 
 
 2. Caroline County; 17 
 
 3. Charles County; 18 
 
 4. Harford County; 19 
 
 5. [Queen Anne’s County; 20 
 
 6.] Somerset County; 21 
 
 [7.] 6. Talbot County; 22 
 
 [8.] 7. Wicomico County; and 23 
 
 [9.] 8. Worcester County; and 24

 (ii) The first Sunday in November in Anne Arundel County. 1 
 
 (6) The Department may allow a person to hunt turkey on each Sunday of 2 
the spring turkey hunting season in: 3 
 
 (i) Calvert County; 4 
 
 (ii) Caroline County; 5 
 
 (iii) Carroll County; 6 
 
 (iv) Charles County; 7 
 
 (v) Dorchester County; and 8 
 
 (vi) Kent County. 9 
 
 (7) Notwithstanding any other provision of this subtitle, the Department 10 
may allow a person with a deer management permit to shoot deer on any Sunday 11 
throughout the year in accordance with the terms of the permit. 12 
 
 (8) The Department may allow a person using a State certified raptor to 13 
hunt game birds or mammals on each Sunday during the open season for the game birds 14 
or mammals. 15 
 
 (9) The Department may allow an unarmed person participating in an 16 
organized fox chase to chase foxes on Sunday. 17 
 
 (10) The Department may allow a person shooting pen–reared game birds 18 
or tower–released flighted mallard ducks to hunt on Sunday at a regulated shooting ground 19 
in accordance with § 10–906 of this title. 20 
 
 (11) The Department may allow a person who is 16 years old or younger to 21 
hunt on Sunday if participating in a junior hunt established by the Department in 22 
accordance with this subtitle. 23 
 
 (12) Except as provided in paragraphs (8) through (10) of this subsection and 24 
subject to paragraph (7) of this subsection, a person may not hunt on Sunday in: 25 
 
 (i) Baltimore City; 26 
 
 (ii) Baltimore County; 27 
 
 (iii) Howard County; or 28 
 
 (iv) Prince George’s County. 29

 (13) A person may not hunt migratory game birds on Sunday. 1 
 
 (14) A person may not hunt on public land within the State park system on 2 
Sunday. 3 
 
 (15) The Department may not allow a person to hunt on public land 4 
designated for hunting by the Department on Sunday except in: 5 
 
 (i) Allegany County; 6 
 
 (ii) Cecil County; 7 
 
 (iii) Garrett County; 8 
 
 (iv) St. Mary’s County; 9 
 
 (v) Washington County; 10 
 
 (vi) Dorchester County, for turkey during the spring turkey hunting 11 
season; and 12 
 
 (vii) Frederick County, for deer from the first Sunday in October 13 
through the second Sunday in January of the following year, inclusive. 14 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 15 
1, 2022. 16
