BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 18 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 19 Article – Education 20 5–404. 21 (b) (2) State and local government units responsible for implementing an 22 element of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future shall develop implementation plans 23 consistent with the Comprehensive Implementation Plan that describe the goals, 24 objectives, and strategies that will be used to improve student achievement and meet the 25 2 HOUSE BILL 1196 Blueprint for Maryland’s Future recommendations for each segment of the student 1 population. 2 (h) (1) For each of fiscal years 2022 through 2026, the governing body of a 3 county and the local school system jointly shall appoint a single implementation 4 coordinator responsible for the implementation of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future by 5 all government units operating in the county. 6 (2) FOR EACH OF FISCAL YE ARS 2025 AND 2026, THE STATE SHALL 7 PROVIDE A GRANT OF $150,000 TO EACH COUNTY BOARD FOR THE SALARY OF THE 8 IMPLEMENTATION COORD INATOR APPOINTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH PARAGRAPH 9 (1) OF THIS SUBSECTION . 10 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 11 1, 2023. 12
