BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 18 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 19 Article – Business Regulation 20 9A–301. 21 Except as otherwise provided in this title, an individual shall be licensed by the 22 Board before the individual provides or assists in providing heating, ventilation, 23 air–conditioning, or refrigeration services in the State. 24 2 HOUSE BILL 132 9A–302. 1 (a) To qualify for an apprentice, journeyman, journeyman restricted, master, 2 master restricted, or limited license, an applicant shall meet the requirements of this 3 section. 4 (e) An applicant for a journeyman license shall: 5 (1) have held, for a period of at least [3] 4 years, an apprentice license, and 6 during that period shall have completed at least [1,875] 6,000 hours of training in 7 providing heating, ventilation, air–conditioning, and refrigeration services under the 8 direction and control of a licensed contractor; and 9 (2) pass an examination administered by the Board. 10 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 11 October 1, 2023. 12
