A BILL ENTITLED 
 
AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Firearms – Right to Purchase, Possess, and Carry 2 
 
FOR the purpose of providing that a person may not be denied the right to purchase, 3 
possess, or carry a firearm solely on the basis that the person is authorized to use 4 
medical cannabis; and generally relating to firearms. 5 
 
BY adding to 6 
 Article – Public Safety 7 
Section 5–901 to be under the new subtitle “Subtitle 9. Miscellaneous” 8 
 Annotated Code of Maryland 9 
 (2022 Replacement Volume) 10 
 
 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 11 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 12

SUBTITLE 9. MISCELLANEOUS . 14 
 
5–901. 15 
 
 A PERSON MAY NOT BE DE NIED THE RIGHT TO PU RCHASE, POSSESS, OR CARRY 16 
A FIREARM UNDER THIS TITLE SOLELY ON THE BASIS THAT THE PERSO N IS 17 
AUTHORIZED TO USE ME DICAL CANNABIS UNDER TITLE 13, SUBTITLE 33 OF THE 18 
HEALTH – GENERAL ARTICLE. 19 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 20 
October 1, 2023. 21
