City of Annapolis – Alcoholic Beverages – Art Establishment 2 
 
FOR the purpose of establishing an art establishment beer and wine license in the City of 3 
Annapolis; authorizing the Board of License Commissioners to issue the license to 4 
sell or serve beer and wine for on–premises consumption to a nonprofit organization 5 
primarily engaged in certain activities; and generally relating to alcoholic beverages 6 
in the City of Annapolis.  7

 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland read 5

 (B) (1) THE BOARD MAY ISSUE THE LICENSE TO A NON PROFIT 12 
ORGANIZATION PRIMARILY ENGAGED IN: 13 
 
 (I) THE DISPLAY, SALE, OR DEMONSTRATION OF ART BY AN 14 
INDIVIDUAL ARTIST OR A GROUP OF ARTISTS ;  15 
 
 (II) THE INSTRUCTION OF P ARTICIPATING CLIENTS IN 16 
CREATING ART ; OR 17 
 
 (III) LIVE PERFORMANCES , INCLUDING MUSICAL AC TS OR 18 
THEATER PERFORMANCES . 19 
 
 (2) THE BOARD MAY NOT ISSUE T HE LICENSE TO AN ORG ANIZATION 20 
THAT: 21 
 
 (I) DISPLAYS AND SELLS C OMMERCIALLY PREPARED OR  22 
MASS–PRODUCED ARTISTIC PR ODUCTS; OR 23 
 
 (II) HAS A CORPORATE PURP OSE THAT IS NOT DEDICATED TO 24 
THE ACTIVITIES DESCR IBED UNDER PARAGRAPH (1) OF THIS SUBSECTION . 25 
 
 (C) THE LICENSE AUTHORIZE S THE HOLDER TO SELL OR SERVE BEER AND 26 
WINE AT RETAIL FOR O N–PREMISES CONSUMPTION . 27

 SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 6
