BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 19 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 20 Article – Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis 21 31–102. 22 This title applies only in Washington County. 23 31–1005. 24 2 HOUSE BILL 920 (a) In this section, “premises” includes the entire [stadium] MULTI–USE SPORTS 1 AND EVENTS facility [and the stadium parking lots]. 2 (b) There is a [stadium] MULTI–USE SPORTS AN D EVENTS FACILITY beer, 3 WINE, and [wine] LIQUOR license. 4 (c) The Board may issue the license to the owner of a professional baseball team 5 franchise that may be in any form of business organization, including partnership, 6 corporation, and limited liability company THAT WILL OPERATE AS A MULTI–USE 7 SPORTS AND EVENTS FA CILITY. 8 (d) [(1)] The license authorizes the license holder to sell beer, WINE, and [wine: 9 (i)] LIQUOR for on–premises consumption to individuals present at 10 an event held in the [stadium; and 11 (ii) in plastic, Styrofoam, or paper containers. 12 (2) The written approval of the Board is required before beer and wine may 13 be sold, served, or consumed: 14 (i) on a parking lot of the stadium; or 15 (ii) during an event other than a baseball game in which the team of 16 the license holder is playing] MULTI–USE SPORTS AND EVENT S FACILITY. 17 (e) The license holder [may sell beer and wine from the time the stadium opens 18 for the event until the event ends] SHALL REQUIRE ALL EM PLOYEES TO: 19 (1) COMPLETE AN ALCOHOL AWARENESS TR AINING PROGRAM ; AND 20 (2) OBTAIN A CROWD CONTROL TRAINI NG CERTIFICATE . 21 (f) The license holder may not allow an individual to carry alcoholic beverages 22 onto or from the licensed premises. 23 (g) [(1)] The annual license fee is [$2,000] $2,500. 24 [(2) The fee for a Sunday permit is $250.] 25 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 26 1, 2024. 27
