AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Allegany County – Property Tax Credit – Evergreen Heritage Center 2 
 
FOR the purpose of authorizing the governing body of Allegany County or a municipal 3 
corporation in Allegany County to grant, by law, a property tax credit against the 4 
county or municipal corporation property tax imposed on property that is owned by 5 
a certain entity; and generally relating to a property tax credit in Allegany County. 6 
 
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, 7 
 Article – Tax – Property 8 
Section 9–302(b)(16) and (17) 9 
 Annotated Code of Maryland 10 
 (2019 Replacement Volume and 2023 Supplement) 11 
 
BY adding to 12 
 Article – Tax – Property 13 
Section 9–302(b)(18) 14 
 Annotated Code of Maryland 15 
 (2019 Replacement Volume and 2023 Supplement) 16 
 
 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 17 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 18 
 
Article – Tax – Property 19 
 
9–302. 20  2 	SENATE BILL 502  
 
 
 
 (b) The governing body of Allegany County or of a municipal corporation in 1 
Allegany County may grant, by law, a property tax credit under this section against the 2 
county or municipal corporation property tax imposed on: 3 
 
 (16) property that is: 4 
 
 (i) owned by: 5 
 
 1. The Lions Center, LLC; 6 
 
 2. The Lions Center I, LLC; or 7 
 
 3. The Lions Center II, LLC; and 8 
 
 (ii) known as The Lions Center for Rehabilitation and Extended 9 
Care; [and] 10 
 
 (17) property that is owned by the Cumberland Economic Development 11 
Corporation; AND 12 
 
 (18) PROPERTY THAT IS OWNED BY EVERGREEN HERITAGE CENTER 13 
FOUNDATION, INC., OR EVERGREEN HERITAGE CENTER HOLDINGS, LLC. 14 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect June 15 
1, 2024, and shall be applicable to all taxable years beginning after June 30, 2024. 16
