AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Prince George’s Gateway Development Authority – Modifications 2 
 
FOR the purpose of requiring the Prince George’s Gateway Development Authority to meet 3 
at least a certain number of times per year; requiring staff of the Prince George’s 4 
County Redevelopment Authority to provide support for the Prince George’s 5 
Gateway Development Authority in consultation with the Department of Housing 6 
and Community Development; and generally relating to the Prince George’s 7 
Gateway Development Authority. 8 
 
BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments, 9

 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 19 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 20

 There is a Prince George’s Gateway Development Authority in Prince George’s 2 
County. 3 
 
12–903. 4 
 
 (A) The Authority consists of the following members: 5 
 
 (1) the Secretary, or the Secretary’s designee; 6 
 
 (2) the Secretary of Housing and Community Development, or the 7 
Secretary’s designee; 8 
 
 (3) the mayor of the City of Mount Rainier, or the mayor’s designee; 9 
 
 (4) the mayor of the Town of Brentwood, or the mayor’s designee; 10 
 
 (5) the chair of the Cottage City Commission, or the chair’s designee; 11 
 
 (6) the mayor of the City of Bladensburg, or the mayor’s designee; 12 
 
 (7) the mayor of the Town of Colmar Manor, or the mayor’s designee; 13 
 
 (8) the mayor of the Town of North Brentwood, or the mayor’s designee; 14 
 
 (9) the director of the Economic Development Department for the City of 15 
Mount Rainier; and 16 
 
 (10) two members who are residents of communities impacted by the target 17 
area selected by the majority vote of the leadership of the target area municipalities. 18 
 
 (B) THE AUTHORITY SHALL MEET AT LEAST FOUR TIMES PER YEAR. 19 
 
 (C) STAFF OF THE PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY REDEVELOPMENT 20 
AUTHORITY SHALL PROVI DE SUPPORT FOR THE OPER ATION OF THE AUTHORITY IN 21 
CONSULTATION WITH TH E DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY 22 
DEVELOPMENT . 23

 (a) The Authority may manage appropriated funds from municipalities in the 25 
target area, Prince George’s County, and the State. 26

 (b) The Authority may receive donated services from accountants, lawyers, or 1 
other consultants as necessary to carry out this subtitle. 2 
 
 (c) The Authority may supervise, manage, and terminate staff and consultants 3 
as necessary. 4 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 5 
1, 2024.  6
