AN ACT concerning 1
Department of Juvenile Services – Firearm Offenses – Reporting 2
FOR the purpose of requiring the Department of Juvenile Services to report to the General 3
Assembly each year on the number of assessments completed during the intake 4
process involving children who commit firearm offenses; and generally relating to 5
the Department of Juvenile Services. 6

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 12
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 13

ON OR BEFORE JANUARY 1 EACH YEAR, THE DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE 16
SERVICES SHALL REPORT TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH § 17
2–1257 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE, ON THE NUMBER OF ASS ESSMENTS 18
COMPLETED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE SERVICES DURING THE INTAKE 19
PROCESS INVOLVING CHILDREN WHO COMMIT FIREARM OFFENSE S. 20
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 21
October 1, 2024. 22
