[Brackets] indicate matter deleted from existing law. *sb0976* SENATE BILL 976 R4 4lr1260 CF HB 840 By: Senators Carozza and West Introduced and read first time: February 2, 2024 Assigned to: Judicial Proceedings A BILL ENTITLED AN ACT concerning 1 Vehicle Laws – Annual Vehicle Shows – Motor and Trailer Homes 2 FOR the purpose of repealing a certain limitation on an exemption for motor and trailer 3 home dealers, and salesmen employed by dealers, from restrictions on the number 4 of annual vehicle shows in which the dealers or salesmen may participate; and 5 generally relating to annual motor and trailer home shows. 6 BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, 7 Article – Transportation 8 Section 15–304(c) 9 Annotated Code of Maryland 10 (2020 Replacement Volume and 2023 Supplement) 11 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 12 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 13 Article – Transportation 14 15–304. 15 (c) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section: 16 (1) A new vehicle dealer, or a licensed vehicle salesman who is employed 17 by the dealer, may participate in 2 annual vehicle shows for each dealer location. 18 (2) A display or exhibit of vehicles provided by a vehicle manufacturer is 19 not a vehicle show under this section if buyers’ orders are not executed and deposits are not 20 accepted. 21 2 SENATE BILL 976 (3) [(i) A new vehicle dealer franchised to sell Class M motor homes or 1 Class G trailers, or a licensed salesman who is employed by the dealer, may participate in 2 more than 2 annual vehicle shows, if the shows are limited to Class M motor homes or Class 3 G trailers. 4 (ii)] A new vehicle dealer franchised to sell motorcycles, CLASS M 5 MOTOR HOMES , OR CLASS G TRAILERS, or a licensed salesman who is employed by the 6 dealer, may participate in more than 2 annual vehicle shows. 7 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 8 October 1, 2024. 9
