AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Calvert County Board of Education – Elections for Members Representing 2 
Specific Districts – Alterations 3 
 
FOR the purpose of requiring that members of the Calvert County Board of Education 4 
representing certain districts be elected only by the voters of that district; and 5 
generally relating to the election of members of the Calvert County Board of 6 
Education. 7 
 
BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments, 8

 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MAR	YLAND, 18 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 19 
 
Article – Education 20 
 
3–301. 21 
 
 (b) The five voting members of the Calvert County Board shall be elected at a 22 
general election as required by subsections (d) and (f) of this section. 23 
  2 	HOUSE BILL 1075  
 
 
 (d) (1) Of the five voting members of the county board: 1 
 
 [(1)] (I) One shall be elected from each of the three county commissioner 2 
districts, ELECTED ONLY BY THE VOTERS OF THAT DISTR ICT; and 3 
 
 [(2)] (II) Two shall be elected from the county at large. 4 
 
 (2) (I) AS APPLICABLE FOR THAT COUNTY COMMISSIONER 5 
DISTRICT, AT THE GENERAL ELECT ION, THE BALLOT SHALL PRO VIDE THE VOTER 6 
WITH THE CHOICE TO C AST A VOTE “FOR” A CANDIDATE FOR ELEC TION FROM THAT 7 
DISTRICT. 8 
 
 (II) AFTER THE ELECTION RE SULTS ARE CERTIFIED , THE STATE 9 
BOARD OF ELECTIONS SHALL DECLA RE FOR EACH DISTRICT WHETHER A 10 
CANDIDATE HAS BEEN E LECTED. 11 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 12 
1, 2025. 13
