AN ACT concerning 1
Calvert County Commissioners – Prohibited Gatherings and Events 2
FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of Calvert County to enact a 3
local law authorizing the County Attorney or the State’s Attorney for Calvert County 4
to prohibit certain future events or gatherings; and generally relating to the 5
regulation of gatherings and events in Calvert County. 6

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 12

(A) THIS SECTION APPLIES ONLY IN CALVERT COUNTY. 16
(B) BY ORDINANCE , THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CALVERT COUNTY 17

(1) AUTHORIZE THE COUNTY ATTORNEY OR THE STATE’S ATTORNEY 19
FOR CALVERT COUNTY TO PROHIBIT A FUTURE EVENT OR GATH ERING IF THE 20
FUTURE EVENT OR GATH ERING HAS A SUBSTANTIAL LIKELI HOOD OF CREATING: 21

(I) A NUISANCE; OR 1
(II) A DISTURBANCE OF THE PEACEFUL ENJO YMENT OF 2
PRIVATE OR PUBLIC PR OPERTY; AND 3
(2) ESTABLISH PENALTIES AND ENFORCEMENT PROVISIONS FOR A 4
VIOLATION OF A PROHIBITION ISSUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH AN ORDINANCE 5
ADOPTED UNDER THIS SECTION. 6
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect June 7
1, 2025. 8
