AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Federally Qualified Health Centers Grant Program – Acquisition of Land 2 
 
FOR the purpose of authorizing the Board of Public Works, on recommendation of the 3 
Secretary of Health, to make grants under the Federally Qualified Health Centers 4 
Grant Program to counties, municipal corporations, and nonprofit corporations for 5 
the acquisition of land for the construction or use of a federally qualified health 6 
center; and generally relating to the Federally Qualified Health Centers Grant 7 
Program. 8 
 
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, 9 
 Article – Health – General 10 
Section 24–1302 11 
 Annotated Code of Maryland 12 
 (2023 Replacement Volume and 2024 Supplement) 13 
 
 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 14 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 15 
 
Article – Health – General 16 
 
24–1302. 17 
 
 (a) There is a Federally Qualified Health Centers Grant Program. 18 
  2 	HOUSE BILL 43  
 
 
 (b) On the recommendation of the Secretary, the Board of Public Works may 1 
make grants to counties, municipal corporations, and nonprofit organizations for: 2 
 
 (1) The conversion of public buildings or parts of public buildings to 3 
federally qualified health centers; 4 
 
 (2) The acquisition of existing buildings or parts of buildings for use as 5 
federally qualified health centers; 6 
 
 (3) The renovation of federally qualified health centers; 7 
 
 (4) The purchase of capital equipment for federally qualified health 8 
centers; [or] 9 
 
 (5) The planning, design, and construction of federally qualified health 10 
centers; OR 11 
 
 (6) THE ACQUISITION OF LAND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OR USE OF A 12 
FEDERALLY QUALIFIED HEALTH CENTER . 13 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 14 
October 1, 2025. 15
