AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Public Utilities – Solar Energy Generating Stations – Local Approval 2 
 
FOR the purpose of prohibiting the Public Service Commission from approving a certificate 3 
of public convenience and necessity for a solar energy generating station unless the 4 
Commission receives written approval for the construction of the generating station 5 
from each county or municipal corporation where the generating station is proposed 6 
to be located; and generally relating to solar energy generating stations. 7

 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 13 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 14

 (I) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY O THER PROVISION OF LA W, THE COMMISSION 17 
MAY NOT APPROVE A CERTIFICAT E OF PUBLIC CONVENIE NCE AND NECESSITY FOR 18 
A SOLAR ENERGY GENER ATING STATION UNLESS EACH COUNTY OR MUNICIPAL 19 
CORPORATION WHERE ANY PORTION OF THE GENERATIN G STATION IS PROPOSED 20 
TO BE LOCATED HAS GIVEN WRITTEN APPROVAL FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE 21 
GENERATING STATION TO THE COMMISSION. 22
