BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL AS SEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 16 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 17 Article – Human Services 18 9–101. 19 2 HOUSE BILL 814 (a) In this title the following words have the meanings indicated. 1 (b) “Department” means the Department of Juvenile Services. 2 9–224. 3 ON OR BEFORE OCTOBER 1, 2025, AND EACH OCTOBER 1 THEREAFTER , THE 4 DEPARTMENT SHALL REPORT TO THE SENATE JUDICIAL PROCEEDING S 5 COMMITTEE AND THE HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH § 6 2–1257 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE, ON: 7 (1) EFFORTS BY THE DEPARTMENT TO PROMOTE PREDELINQUENT 8 PROGRAMS, INCLUDING YOUTH SERV ICE BUREAUS; 9 (2) EFFORTS BY THE DEPARTMENT TO COLLABORATE WITH AND 10 PROVIDE TECHNICAL AS SISTANCE TO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS REGARDING THE 11 ESTABLISHMENT , USE, AND FUNDING OF YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU S; 12 (3) AN ASSESSMENT OF THE PROGRAMS AND ACTIVIT IES CONDUCTED 13 BY YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU S; AND 14 (4) ANY OTHER EFFORTS TO PREVENT Y OUTH OFFENSES . 15 SECTION 2.
