BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 18 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 19 Article – Business Regulation 20 2 HOUSE BILL 92 9A–101. 1 (a) In this title the following words have the meanings indicated. 2 (b) “Board” means the State Board of Heating, Ventilation, Air–Conditioning, and 3 Refrigeration Contractors. 4 (l) (1) “License” means, unless the context requires otherwise, a license issued 5 by the Board to provide or to assist in providing heating, ventilation, air–conditioning, or 6 refrigeration services. 7 (2) “License” includes, unless the context requires otherwise: 8 (i) a master license; 9 (ii) a master restricted license; 10 (iii) a limited license; 11 (iv) a journeyman license; 12 (v) a journeyman restricted license; and 13 (vi) an apprentice license. 14 9A–309. 15 (e) (1) If application for restoration is made within [90 days of] 4 YEARS 16 AFTER expiration of a license, the license may be restored [only] on payment of [a] THE 17 REQUIRED renewal OR REINSTATEMENT fee. 18 (2) If application for restoration is not made within the [90–day] 4–YEAR 19 period, the Board may require compliance with the process for initial applications as if the 20 applicant had never been licensed. 21 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 22 October 1, 2025. 23
