AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Maryland Veterans Trust – Board of Trustees – Membership 2 
 
FOR the purpose of altering the membership of the Board of Trustees of the Maryland 3 
Veterans Trust to include the Secretary of Disabilities; and generally relating to the 4 
Board of Trustees of the Maryland Veterans Trust. 5 
 
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, 6 
 Article – State Government 7 
 Section 9–914(b) 8 
 Annotated Code of Maryland 9 
 (2021 Replacement Volume and 2024 Supplement) 10 
 
 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 11 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 12 
 
Article – State Government 13 
 
9–914. 14 
 
 (b) The Board of Trustees shall consist of the following [11] 12 members: 15 
 
 (1) the Secretary, ex officio, or the Secretary’s designee, who shall serve as 16 
the chair; 17 
  2 	SENATE BILL 172  
 
 
 (2) the Secretary of Aging, ex officio, or the Secretary’s designee; 1 
 
 (3) the Secretary of Labor, ex officio, or the Secretary’s designee; 2 
 
 (4) the Secretary of Health, ex officio, or the Secretary’s designee; 3 
 
 (5) the Secretary of Human Services, ex officio, or the Secretary’s designee; 4 
 
 (6) THE SECRETARY OF DISABILITIES, EX OFFICIO, OR THE 5 
SECRETARY’S DESIGNEE; 6 
 
 (7) the Adjutant General of the Military Department, ex officio, or the 7 
Adjutant General’s designee; 8 
 
 [(7)] (8) one representative of each of the following organizations, 9 
appointed by the Governor: 10 
 
 (i) a veterans service organization; 11 
 
 (ii) a nonprofit organization that serves veterans; and 12 
 
 (iii) the business community; 13 
 
 [(8)] (9) a member of the House of Delegates appointed by the Speaker of 14 
the House; and 15 
 
 [(9)] (10) a member of the Senate appointed by the President of the Senate. 16 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 17 
October 1, 2025. 18
