BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 12 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 13 Article – Local Government 14 4–414. 15 (a) (1) The chief executive and administrative officer of a municipality that 16 has annexed property shall send a copy of the annexation resolution with the new 17 boundaries to: 18 (i) the clerk or similar official of the municipality; 19 (ii) the clerk of the court in any county in which the municipality is 20 located; 21 2 SENATE BILL 245 (iii) the Department of Legislative Services in accordance with 1 paragraph (2) of this subsection; [and] 2 (iv) THE DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING IN ACCORDANC E WITH 3 PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS SUBSECTION ; AND 4 (V) for any municipality located in the regional district, the 5 Maryland–National Capital Park and Planning Commission. 6 (2) The annexation resolution shall be sent to the Department of 7 Legislative Services AND THE DEPARTMEN T OF PLANNING within 10 days after the 8 resolution takes effect. 9 (b) Each official or agency that receives an annexation resolution under 10 subsection (a) of this section shall: 11 (1) keep on record the resolution with the new boundaries; and 12 (2) make the resolution available for public inspection during regular 13 business hours. 14 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 15 October 1, 2025. 16
