BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 15 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 16 Article – Family Law 17 5–525.3. 18 (A) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION , THE 19 DEPARTMENT SHALL ADOP T REGULATIONS SETTIN G THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF 20 CHILDREN THAT MAY BE PLACED WITH AN OUT –OF–HOME PLACEMENT PRO VIDER. 21 (B) THE LIMITATION ON THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN P LACED WITH AN 22 OUT–OF–HOME PLACEMENT PROVI DER IN ACCORDANCE WI TH SUBSECTION (A) OF 23 2 SENATE BILL 765 THIS SECTION DOES NO T APPLY TO A CHILD E NROLLED IN AN ACCRED ITED 1 INSTITUTION OF HIGHE R EDUCATION: 2 (1) WHO IS UNABLE TO REMAIN ON THE INS TITUTION’S CAMPUS DUE 3 TO A SCHEDULED BREAK , A TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE INSTITUTION , OR A 4 TEMPORARY LEAVE OF A BSENCE; AND 5 (2) WHOSE LIVING ARRANGE MENT IN THE HOME IS MUTUALLY 6 AGREED TO BY THE CHI LD, THE OUT–OF–HOME PLACEMENT PROVI DER, AND THE 7 PROVIDER AGENCY . 8 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 9 1, 2025. 10
