Business Regulation – Cellular Phone Carriers – Service Contract Requirement 2
FOR the purpose of requiring a cellular phone carrier to include a certain option in a 3
cellular phone service contract authorizing certain additional individuals to alter, 4
modify, or cancel a service contract under certain circumstances; and generally 5
relating to cellular phone carriers and service contracts. 6

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 12

CELLULAR PHONE SERVI CES SHALL INCLUDE A N OPTION IN THE SERVICE 17
CONTRACT THAT ALLOWS MORE THAN ONE INDIVIDUAL WHO IS A CUSTOMER OF 18
RECORD TO THE SERVICE CONTRACT TO ALTER, MODIFY, OR CANCEL THE SERVICE 19
CONTRACT WITHOUT THE AGREEMEN T OF THE OTHER CUSTO MERS OF RECORD IF 20
ALL OF THE CUSTOMERS OF RECORD AGREE IN WRITING TO THE OPTION ON 21
EXECUTION OF THE SER VICE CONTRACT . 22
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 23
October 1, 2025. 24
