Page 1 - 131LR2672(01) 1 2 as amended by PL 2015, c. 136, §11 and 3 affected by §12, is further amended to read: 4 5 commissioner may issue 2 5 moose permits to a nonprofit organization or organizations 6 dedicated to providing hunting and fishing adventures to children under 21 years of age 7 with life-threatening, critical or terminal illnesses. At least 3 of the permits issued under 8 this subsection must be issued to an eligible nonprofit organization based in the State, and 9 a child who receives a permit from that organization must be a resident. The commissioner 10 may issue these permits upon written request by an eligible nonprofit organization or 11 organizations but may not issue more than 2 5 permits in total for a calendar year. These 12 permits are in addition to the moose hunting permits issued under subsection 2 for each 13 wildlife management district and are at no cost to the organization. 14 15 This bill increases from 2 to 5 the number of moose hunting permits that may be issued 16 to nonprofit organizations that provide hunting and fishing adventures to children with life- 17 threatening, critical or terminal illnesses and specifies that at least 3 of the permits must be 18 issued to an organization based in the State and given to children who are residents of the 19 State. 15 16 17 18 19
