Fiscal Note
This amendment eliminates the one-time General Fund appropriation of $5,000 in fiscal year 2023-24 included in the
bill to the Maine School Safety Center program within the Department of Education for staffing and other related
costs to support the work of the stakeholder group established to develop best practices for lockdown drills and active
shooter drills implemented by school administrative units to minimize traumatic impact on students and school staff
and instead provides a one-time General Fund appropriation for the same amount in fiscal year 2024-25 for the same
purpose.
