Page 1 - 131LR1674(01) 1 2 3 4 This bill is a concept draft pursuant to Joint Rule 208. 5 In Public Law 2021, chapter 151, the 130th Legislature enacted the Maine Revised 6 Statutes, Title 35-A, chapter 34-D, which requires certain solar energy developments to 7 have decommissioning plans. Chapter 34-D applies to solar energy developments on which 8 construction began on or after October 1, 2021 and to solar energy developments that 9 undergo a change in ownership on or after October 1, 2021. This bill proposes to address 10 the issue of decommissioning plans for solar energy developments of a size similar to the 11 size of developments that are subject to the provisions of chapter 34-D and on which 12 construction began before October 1, 2021. It also proposes to address the issue of 13 decommissioning plans for stored energy systems developments. 4
