Page 1 - 132LR0487(01) 1 2 is enacted to read: 3 4 who is a secondary student the minimum hourly wage is 50% of the amount specified in 5 subsection 1 for a period of at least 2 years beginning with the first day of employment, 6 except that an employee who graduates secondary school must be paid at least a minimum 7 hourly wage in accordance with subsection 1. 8 For the purposes of this subsection, "secondary student" has the same meaning as in Title 9 20-A, section 1, subsection 33 and "secondary school" has the same meaning as in Title 10 20-A, section 1, subsection 32. 11 12 This bill provides that, for an employee who is a secondary school student, the 13 minimum hourly wage is 50% of the state's minimum wage for a period of at least 2 years 14 unless that employee graduates secondary school. 12 13 14
