2 as enacted by PL 2023, c. 679, Pt. A, §3, is 
3 amended by enacting at the end a new blocked paragraph to read:
4 Notwithstanding paragraphs B or C, "disqualifying drug offense" includes a conviction that 
5 has occurred within the 3-year period prior to the date of application for or renewal of a 
6 license under this chapter for a crime related to the cultivation or distribution of cannabis 
7 that is not authorized in this chapter, in the rules adopted pursuant to this chapter or in Title 
8 28-B.
9 as enacted by PL 2023, c. 679, Pt. B, §3, is 
10 amended by enacting at the end a new blocked paragraph to read:
11 Notwithstanding paragraph C, "disqualifying drug offense" includes a conviction that has 
12 occurred within the 3-year period prior to the date of application for or for renewal of a 
13 registry identification card or a registration certificate under this chapter for a crime related 
14 to the cultivation or distribution of cannabis that is not authorized in this chapter, in the 
15 rules adopted pursuant to this chapter, in chapter 3 or in the Maine Medical Use of Cannabis 
16 Act.

18 This bill amends the definition of "disqualifying drug offense" in the Maine Medical 
19 Use of Cannabis Act and in the Cannabis Legalization Act to provide that a conviction 
20 within the 3-year period prior to an application for licensure or registration for a crime, 
21 related to the cultivation or distribution of cannabis that is not authorized in the Maine 
22 Medical Use of Cannabis Act or in the Cannabis Legalization Act, is a disqualifying drug 
23 offense.
