6 The term of appointment of a judicial officer appointed pursuant to the Constitution of
7 Maine, Article V, Part First, Section 8 begins on the date that the judicial officer is sworn
8 into office.

10 The provisions of Title 5, section 6 do not apply to judicial officers appointed pursuant
11 to the Constitution of Maine, Article V, Part First, Section 8.

13 This bill clarifies that the term of appointment of a judicial officer appointed pursuant
14 to the Constitution of Maine begins on the date of swearing in and that the qualification
15 requirements of the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, section 6 do not apply to such a judicial
16 officer.
