1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to energy; appropriating money for the Minnesota Energy Alley. 1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.4 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; MINNESOTA ENERGY ALLEY. 1.5 Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 116C.779, subdivision 1, paragraph (j), 1.6$5,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the renewable development account in 1.7the special revenue fund under Minnesota Statutes, section 116C.779, subdivision 1, to the 1.8commissioner of commerce for a grant to Clean Energy Economy Minnesota for the 1.9Minnesota Energy Alley initiative to secure the state's energy and economic development 1.10future. The money from the grant may be used to establish and support the initiative, provide 1.11seed funding for businesses, develop a training and development program, support 1.12recruitment of entrepreneurs to Minnesota, and secure funding from federal programs and 1.13corporate partners to establish a self-sustaining, long-term revenue model.
