1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for clean water infrastructure
1.3 in Brooklyn Park; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. BROOKLYN PARK; WATER INFRASTRUCTURE.
1.6 Subdivision 1.Appropriation.$4,500,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund
1.7to the city of Brooklyn Park for a grant to predesign, design, construct, acquire right-of-way
1.8and easements, and equip improvements to the city's water distribution system including
1.9two water mains that will connect from the east to west under marked U.S. Highway 169
1.10north of marked Trunk Highway 610, one water main that will connect from the north to
1.11south under marked Trunk Highway 610 west of marked U.S. Highway 169, and supporting
1.12connections between the new crossings to support the city's biotech innovation district.
1.13 Subd. 2.Bond sale.To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
1.14proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
1.15the state in an amount up to $4,500,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
1.16prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
1.17Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.18 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
