1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the Minnesota Valley 1.3 Regional Rail Authority. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. MINNESOTA VALLEY REGIONAL RAIL AUTHORITY. 1.6 (a) $15,000,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the 1.7commissioner of transportation for a grant to the Minnesota Valley Regional Rail Authority 1.8to rehabilitate a portion of the railroad track between Winthrop and Hanley Falls. The grant 1.9under this paragraph may also be used for any required environmental documentation and 1.10remediation, predesign, design, and rehabilitation or replacement of bridges with new bridges 1.11or culverts between Winthrop and Hanley Falls. A portion of the grant under this paragraph 1.12may also be used as matching funds to meet federal grant requirements.
