1.2 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the children's museum in
1.3 the city of Mankato.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OF SOUTHERN
1.6MINNESOTA.
1.7 $12,500,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.8of employment and economic development for a grant to the Children's Museum of Southern
1.9Minnesota, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to predesign, design, construct, renovate,
1.10furnish, and equip capital improvements at the museum in the city of Mankato. This
1.11appropriation includes money for a new museum building expansion, renovation of existing
1.12exhibit space, and the addition of an outdoor nature play space. This appropriation is available
1.13until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
1.14This is a onetime appropriation.
1.15 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
