1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to the legislature; increasing the number of leadership positions in each 1.3 body; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 3.099, subdivision 3. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 3.099, subdivision 3, is amended to read: 1.6 Subd. 3.Leaders.The senate Committee on Rules and Administration for the senate 1.7and the house of representatives Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration for 1.8the house of representatives may each designate for their respective body up to five six 1.9leadership positions to receive up to 140 percent of the compensation of other members. 1.10 At the commencement of each biennial legislative session, each house of the legislature 1.11shall adopt a resolution designating its majority and minority leader. 1.12 The majority leader is the person elected by the caucus of members in each house which 1.13is its largest political affiliation.
