1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money to Big Brothers Big 1.3 Sisters for youth programming. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS; APPROPRIATION. 1.6 $500,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the 1.7workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development 1.8for a grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities to provide disadvantaged 1.9youth ages 12 to 21 with job-seeking skills, connections to job training and education 1.10opportunities, and mentorship while exploring careers. The grant shall serve youth in the 1.11Big Brothers Big Sisters chapters in the Twin Cities, central Minnesota, and southern 1.12Minnesota. This is a onetime appropriation. 1Section 1.
