1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to corrections; appropriating money for The Redemption Project to assist
1.3 justice-impacted individuals with programming to reduce incarceration and assist
1.4 inmates to transition from incarceration to community.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; THE REDEMPTION PROJECT.
1.7 $500,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the
1.8general fund to the commissioner of corrections for a grant to The Redemption Project to
1.9provide inmates and justice-impacted individuals with virtue-based education grounded in
1.10core correctional practices, mentoring, support services, and employment services. This
1.11amount is added to the base.
1.12 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
