1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to energy; appropriating money for research and development of green 1.3 ammonia power generation technology. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; GREEN AMMONIA POWER GENERATION 1.6RESEARCH. 1.7 Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 116C.779, subdivision 1, paragraph (j), 1.8$6,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $6,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from 1.9the renewable development account in the special revenue fund under Minnesota Statutes, 1.10section 116C.779, subdivision 1, to the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota 1.11to lead research, development, outreach, and demonstration of energy systems that utilize 1.12hydrogen and ammonia production from renewable energy resources and other sources of 1.13clean energy as a means of storing and generating electricity.
