1.2 relating to capital investment; transferring money for water treatment plants in the
1.3 city of Hastings.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. CITY OF HASTINGS WATER TREATMENT PLANTS; 3M
1.6SETTLEMENT MONEY TRANSFER.
1.7 The commissioner of the Pollution Control Agency must transfer $45,700,000 in fiscal
1.8year 2026 from money appropriated to the commissioner from the water quality and
1.9sustainability account in the remediation fund established under Minnesota Statutes, section
1.10115B.52, to the Public Facilities Authority for a grant to the city of Hastings to predesign,
1.11design, construct, and equip three water treatment plants and associated water mains to
1.12remove perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from city wells. Money
1.13transferred under this section is available until June 30, 2029.
