                    1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to transportation; requiring disqualification from operating a commercial​
1.3 motor vehicle after commission of certain offenses involving a commercial motor​
1.4 vehicle; imposing civil penalties; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section​
1.5 171.165, by adding a subdivision.​
1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 171.165, is amended by adding a subdivision​
1.8to read:​
1.9 Subd. 2a.Use of commercial motor vehicle in certain offenses; disqualification for​
1.10life.The commissioner must disqualify a person from operating a commercial motor vehicle​
1.11for life if the person uses a commercial motor vehicle in the commission of the following​
1.12offenses:​
1.13 (1) a felony violation involving the manufacture, distribution, or dispensing of a controlled​
1.14substance, or possession with the intent to manufacture, distribute, or dispense a controlled​
1.15substance under chapter 152; or​
1.16 (2) a felony violation involving a forced or coerced labor or services or human​
1.17trafficking-related offense under section 609.281, subdivision 4; 609.282; or 609.322,​
1.18subdivision 1 or 1a.​
1.19 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective August 1, 2025, and applies to offenses​
1.20committed on or after that date.​
