                    1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to civil actions; applying statute of limitations for minor sex abuse claims​
1.3 retroactively; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 541.073, subdivision 3.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 541.073, subdivision 3, is amended to read:​
1.6 Subd. 3.Applicability; retroactive application.(a) This section applies to an action​
1.7for damages commenced against a person who was a cause of the plaintiff's damages either​
1.8by (1) committing sexual abuse against the plaintiff, or (2) negligence.​
1.9 (b) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, if the plaintiff was under the age of 18​
1.10at the time of the alleged abuse, this section applies to actions pending or commenced on​
1.11or after August 1, 2025, including actions that were time-barred prior to August 1, 2025.​
