1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to children, youth, and families; appropriating money for grants for forensic 1.3 interview training scholarships. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; FORENSIC INTERVIEW TRAINING 1.6SCHOLARSHIPS. 1.7 $250,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $250,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the 1.8general fund to the commissioner of children, youth, and families for grants to nationally 1.9recognized forensic interview protocol organizations to award scholarships for basic forensic 1.10interview training, advanced forensic interview training, and training on specialized interview 1.11topics. Scholarship recipients may include individuals in law enforcement, child protection, 1.12and prosecution; health professionals investigating, treating, and managing child maltreatment 1.13cases in Minnesota; and forensic interviewers at children's advocacy centers. 1Section 1.
