                    1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to health; requiring health plan coverage for imaging services for brain​
1.3 aneurysms; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 256B.0625, subdivision​
1.4 10; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 62Q.​
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.6 Section 1. [62Q.512] COVERAGE FOR BRAIN ANEURYSM IMAGING SERVICES.​
1.7 (a) Every health plan company shall provide coverage for the use of imaging services,​
1.8including but not limited to magnetic resonance imaging, computerized tomography, or​
1.9angiograms, to identify and check on the status of unruptured brain aneurysms.​
1.10 (b) The imaging services described in paragraph (a) must be provided with no cost​
1.11sharing at least annually to women 40 years of age or older and be classified as a preventive​
1.12service.​
1.13 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective January 1, 2026, and applies to health​
1.14plans offered, issued, or renewed on or after that date.​
1.15 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 256B.0625, subdivision 10, is amended to read:​
1.16 Subd. 10.Laboratory, x-ray imaging, and opioid testing services.(a) Medical​
1.17assistance covers laboratory and, x-ray, and other imaging services.​
1.18 (b) Medical assistance covers screening and urinalysis tests for opioids without lifetime​
1.19or annual limits.​
1.20 (c) Medical assistance covers laboratory tests ordered and performed by a licensed​
1.21pharmacist, according to the requirements of section 151.01, subdivision 27, clause (3), at​

2.2licensed practitioner.​
2.3 (d) Medical assistance coverage for brain aneurysm imaging must meet the requirements​
2.4that would otherwise apply to health plan companies under section 62Q.512.​
2.5 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective January 1, 2026.​
2.6 Sec. 3. PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN.​
2.7 Beginning January 1, 2026, and for two years thereafter, the commissioner of health​
2.8shall operate a statewide public awareness campaign related to the risks of brain aneurysms​
2.9for women 40 years of age or older and the coverage that may be available to them under​
2.10Minnesota Statutes, section 62Q.512.​
