1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to higher education; appropriating money for University of Minnesota
1.3 operations and maintenance.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE.
1.6 (a) $911,544,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $911,544,000 in fiscal year 2027 are
1.7appropriated from the general fund to the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota
1.8for operations and maintenance of the University of Minnesota.
1.9 (b) Of the amounts appropriated in paragraph (a):
1.10 (1) $45,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $45,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 are to implement
1.11the University of Minnesota's Health Sciences Strategic Plan and address the critical health
1.12care challenges facing Minnesota;
1.13 (2) $40,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $40,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 are to advance
1.14innovation and new technologies in the biomanufacturing, precision agriculture, hypersonics,
1.15and green energy and green iron industries; and
1.16 (3) $30,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $30,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 are to improve
1.17and expand programs and services that increase student success.
