1.2 relating to health; making changes to born alive infant provisions; amending
1.3 Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 145.423, subdivision 1.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 145.423, subdivision 1, is amended to read:
1.6 Subdivision 1.Recognition; medical care.An A born alive infant who is born alive as
1.7a result of an abortion shall be fully recognized as a human person, and accorded immediate
1.8protection under the law. All reasonable measures consistent with good medical practice,
1.9including the compilation of appropriate medical records, shall be taken by the responsible
1.10medical personnel to care for the infant who is born alive preserve the life and health of the
1.11born alive infant.
1.12 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
