                    1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to arts and cultural heritage; appropriating money to Stairstep Foundation​
1.3 for African American cultural festivals and events.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; STAIRSTEP FOUNDATION.​
1.6 $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the arts and cultural heritage fund​
1.7to the director of Explore Minnesota for a grant to the Stairstep Foundation for African​
1.8American cultural festivals and events. Grant funds may be used for infrastructure and​
1.9associated costs for the festivals and events, including but not limited to buildout, permits,​
1.10sanitation and maintenance services, transportation, staffing, event programming, public​
1.11safety, facilities and equipment rentals, signage, and insurance. This is a onetime​
1.12appropriation.​
