1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to veterans; requiring a report; appropriating money for a grant to the
1.3 United Heroes League.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; UNITED HEROES LEAGUE.
1.6 $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.7of veterans affairs to provide a grant to the United Heroes League, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
1.8organization. The grant recipient must use the grant money to make capital improvements
1.9to the organization's campus in Hastings, Minnesota, that will directly benefit current service
1.10members, veterans, and their dependents. By January 15, 2027, the commissioner of veterans
1.11affairs must report to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees
1.12with jurisdiction over veterans regarding the uses of grant money, including any amount
1.13used for grant administration. The report must be filed with the Legislative Reference Library
1.14in compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 3.195. As a condition of receiving the grant,
1.15United Heroes League must agree to provide the commissioner of veterans affairs any
1.16information needed to complete the report.
