                    1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to taxation; aids to local governments; extending the availability of an​
1.3 appropriation; amending Laws 2023, chapter 64, article 15, section 30.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. Laws 2023, chapter 64, article 15, section 30, is amended to read:​
1.6 Sec. 30. APPROPRIATION; CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS; GRANT.​
1.7 (a) $10,000,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the​
1.8commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the city of​
1.9Minneapolis. This is a onetime appropriation. The grant must be paid by July 15, 2023. The​
1.10city of Minneapolis may use up to one percent of the grant for administrative costs. This​
1.11appropriation is available until June 30, 2027.​
1.12 (b) Of the amount granted to the city of Minneapolis under paragraph (a), $8,000,000​
1.13must be used for a grant to a foundation that provides business advising, branding and​
1.14marketing support, and real estate consulting to businesses located on Lake Street in​
1.15Minneapolis, between 30th Avenue South and Nicollet Avenue. The organization must use​
1.16the funds for direct business support or direct corridor support, including assistance with​
1.17marketing, placemaking, and public relations services.​
1.18 (c) Of the amount granted to the city of Minneapolis under paragraph (a), $2,000,000​
1.19must be used for property acquisition in the city of Minneapolis at 1860 28th Street East​
1.20and 2717 Longfellow Avenue.​
1.21 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
