1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grant to 1.3 HealthcareMN. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION. 1.6 (a) $200,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $200,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from 1.7the general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant 1.8to HealthcareMN to support programs that improve healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship, 1.9economic growth, and community impact. These are onetime appropriations. 1.10 (b) Grant proceeds must be used to: 1.11 (1) host a healthcare venture summit to connect entrepreneurs, investors, and industry 1.12leaders and foster collaboration and investment in healthcare innovation; 1.13 (2) expand regional outreach to position the Twin Cities metropolitan area as a leading 1.14hub for healthcare innovation and enhance resources and partnerships across the ecosystem; 1.15and 1.16 (3) establish mentorship programs connecting healthcare innovators with corporate 1.17leaders and successful entrepreneurs to accelerate growth and market impact. 1Section 1.
