                    1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to retirement; Public Employees Retirement Association; correcting​
1.3 employer failure to record service; requiring the payment of employee and employer​
1.4 contributions on omitted service and extending Rule of 90 eligibility for an eligible​
1.5 employee.​
1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.7 Section 1. CONTRIBUTIONS FOR ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEE.​
1.8 (a) Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 353.27, subdivision 12b, Alaine Pappin and​
1.9Independent School District No. 281, Robbinsdale, on behalf of Alaine Pappin, must make​
1.10contributions as calculated under paragraph (d) for service as an eligible employee prior to​
1.11July 1, 1989, which was previously unreported.​
1.12 (b) The contributions described in paragraph (a) are permitted although Alaine Pappin​
1.13was not enrolled as a member in a public pension plan at the time the service was provided.​
1.14 (c) The contributions described in paragraph (a) are sufficient to retroactively establish​
1.15Alaine Pappin's membership in a public pension fund listed in section 356.30, subdivision​
1.163, and eligibility for an unreduced early retirement benefit under section 354.44.​
1.17 (d) The Public Employees Retirement Association must calculate the amount of the​
1.18contributions required under section 353.27, subdivision 12b, plus interest, based on the​
1.19omitted salary of $3,185.​
1.20 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
