1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for improvements to the
1.3 intersection at Carver County State-Aid Highway 51 and U.S. Highway 212;
1.4 authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. CARVER COUNTY; COUNTY STATE-AID HIGHWAY 51 AND U.S.
1.7HIGHWAY 212 INTERSECTION SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS.
1.8 Subdivision 1.Appropriation.$6,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.9account in the state transportation fund to the commissioner of transportation for a grant to
1.10Carver County for the design, engineering, and construction of improvements to the
1.11intersection of Carver County State-Aid Highway 51 and U.S. Highway 212. This project
1.12includes County State-Aid Highway 51 roadway construction, a bridge over U.S. Highway
1.13212, side street construction, drainage, and water quality improvements. This appropriation
1.14is available when the commissioner of management and budget determines that an amount
1.15sufficient has been committed to complete the project, as required by Minnesota Statutes,
1.16section 16A.502.
1.17 Subd. 2.Bond sale.To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
1.18proceeds account in the state transportation fund, the commissioner of management and
1.19budget shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an amount up to $6,000,000 in the manner,
1.20upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to
1.2116A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
