1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT RESPONSE TEAM.
1.6 $250,000 for fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.7of education for a grant to a nonprofit organization to fund a Community Engagement
1.8Response Team in the Rochester area. The team must be comprised of community leaders
1.9and volunteers and focus on improving public safety by acting as a liaison between the
1.10Black community and law enforcement, and on curating opportunity, mediating problems,
1.11and providing advocacy for the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color community.
