1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a grant to Hired. 1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.4 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; HIRED. 1.5 $700,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $700,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the 1.6workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development 1.7for a grant to Hired to support their workforce development programming and services. 1.8Grant proceeds may be used to expand their career pathway job training and placement 1.9program that connects lower-skilled job seekers to entry-level and gateway jobs in 1.10high-growth sectors. Grant proceeds may also be used to create services for low-income 1.11Minnesotans designed to increase job retention and create a more stable workforce for 1.12employers by offering a continuum of employment coaching, navigation, and support 1.13services to economically disadvantaged employees.
