1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to arts; modifying disposition of money from arts and cultural heritage 1.3 fund; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, sections 129D.045; 129D.17, subdivision 1.4 4; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 129D. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 129D.045, is amended to read: 1.7 129D.045 REGIONAL ARTS COUNCILS. 1.8 A portion of each appropriation to the board shall be used for statewide distribution 1.9through the regional arts council system. Except when otherwise provided by section 1.10129D.175, these organizations shall work together to determine a formula for distributing 1.11the funds to the regions. The board serves as fiscal agent for distribution of the funds to 1.12each regional arts council. 1.13 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 129D.17, subdivision 4, is amended to read: 1.14 Subd. 4.Minnesota State Arts Board allocation.At least 47 percent of the total 1.15appropriations from the arts and cultural heritage fund in a fiscal biennium must be for 1.16grants and services awarded through the Minnesota State Arts Board, or regional arts 1.17councils, subject to appropriation and distributed according to section 129D.175. 1.18 Sec. 3. [129D.175] ARTS ALLOCATION DISTRIBUTION FORMULA. 1.19 The amount appropriated under section 129D.17, subdivision 4, must be divided by a 1.20divisor equal to the number of regional arts councils plus one. The resulting quotient is the 1.21amount to be distributed to the Minnesota State Arts Board for grants and services 1Sec. 3.
